Peel-Halton-Dufferin Adult Learning Network Logo

Diversity is one of our region’s greatest strengths. Across Peel, Halton, and Dufferin, adults come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring valuable skills, knowledge, and perspectives to their workplaces and communities.

For many adults, however, navigating a new language, adapting to unfamiliar workplace expectations, or learning new technology can present challenges. Skills upgrading programs help learners build the foundational skills needed to succeed in everyday life, further education, and employment.

These programs can support adults in developing:

  • Reading and writing skills to better understand workplace documents, forms, and instructions
  • Computer skills to confidently use technology at work and in daily life
  • Communication skills to interact effectively with employers, coworkers, schools, and community services
  • Math skills to manage finances, understand measurements, and perform workplace tasks

By creating accessible and inclusive learning opportunities, skills upgrading programs help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to reach their goals, regardless of their background or previous learning experiences.

At the Network, we work with service providers across Peel, Halton, and Dufferin to connect adults with skills upgrading programs that meet their unique needs. Through collaboration, we help create pathways to learning that support stronger workplaces, stronger communities, and lifelong success.
